Force an alert action to trigger even when a device is unmanaged.

I am looking for a way to force an alert action to trigger even when a device is unmanaged.

The object is to catch devices that have been unmanaged for more than 30 days and resume monitoring if the device is truly down an alert would generate that could spawn a request to remove the device.

With many users having the ability to unmanage a device there are plenty of devices that have come back online but the managed status has been left in an unmanaged state.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Default configuration in SolarWinds disables alert actions on unmanaged objects. You can enable it by checking "Allow alert actions for unmanaged objects" checkbox in "Polling Settings" page as explained in this support article:

Thank you for that information. How long has this been available? Now I will need this same type of feature for muted objects. I suspect I will need to add an additional custom property to flag and prevent alerting on unmanaged devices. This is going to help use alerting to remove unmanaged that have been forgotten about and left unmanaged.
