Custom Properties - Assign Properties page

Is it possible to change the order of columns in the Custom Properties Assign Properties page - in a permanent way? 

I know you can drag columns, but that doesn't "stick."

We are using Custom Properties a lot and updating them is a bit of a pain with the columns in the default locations as there is a lot of scrolling involved.

Secondary question - can the Latitude and Longitude (world map) columns be deleted - we have no intention of using them and they are taking a lot of valuable "real estate."

I have never found a way to make them 'stick'. If you are doing a lot of work in Custom Properties sometimes it is easier to export them out to Excel and do you work there and then import them back in. To make that task easier you can generate a report that shows only the columns you are interested in, and in the order you like to see them in. Importing them back in is fairly simple.
