This is a continuation of a previous thread that got flagged as spam because I (erroneously) hit 'reply' too many times. My bad.
Add node - attempting to add a Red Hat Linux 8 (also tested with RHEL 7) node with net-SNMP v3 credentials. Test fails.
However, I can successfully run snmpwalk:
- snmpwalk running on the same SW polling server that I'm trying to add the node to
- same credentials, AESlevel and SHA Auth
- my snmpwalk returns the 3 key OIDs for polling test to succeed: 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1 sysdescr
1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2 sysobjectid
1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3 sysuptime , and a lot more.
Snmpwalk succeeds 100% of the time. Add node fails 100% of the time.
I'm not sure just where to go from here. At the present time I don't have wireshark on my polling servers but I guess that's a possibility.
I welcome any input from the community on next steps for troubleshooting.
Thanks.
