I am trying to link VMware Events to my dashboard and add it as a widget but it just shows as blank and I don't see any option to edit the widget or link it to my vSphere in any way.
On which view are you adding in this widget? The widget will work if you add it into the view you get when you click on one of your VMware hosts.
This works on my setup and I also have Virtualization Manager installed.
