Temperature Table Widget Help

Question

I'm a network engineer and fairly new to SWIS. And basically have amateur SQL skills.

We have these outdoor switches that I need to track the temperatures of, but having trouble getting a modern dashboard widget to work. I spent a few hours on it yesterday googling everything I could and haven't made much progress.

This may get you started. Try putting your switch name in the query below. This is for the Inlet Temp. There are several other sensors on the switch that measure temperature as well.

Think about it like:

1) Find the data externally (Sounds done?)
2) Get the data into SLW (Sound done?)
3) Find the data in SLW (I think you're here)
4) Select data from tableItLivesIn where someRestrictionIfNeeded
5) Good to go

So usually a good way to start for 3) is to find it in the UI, and note how many levels you clicked down to get there. I'm guessing it'd be something like Node -> Hardware -> Maybe another level here for sensors or categories. Could be you've got it in SAM or UNDP pollers instead.

You can then usually look in SWQL and search the table you're in, or search for the value itself and pick from the results the table you're in.

You can also find that stuff in the URL or doing clever stuff like finding the payload in developer mode like someone mentioned on here the other day. Usually dont need anything fancy though.
