Alert Reset Condition Issue

Hello,

In the SolarWinds platform I take care of, we have an alert with a reset condition to reset an alert automatically after 15 minutes. I thought this should remove it from the Active Alerts, but it has not. I can now see alerts for this dating back for days and weeks. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?

Hello mrldg123,

The reset alert will be just used to clear the alerts, For example when the trigger action is triggered and you can see the alert in the console or you will receive an email notification if you have configured or it will trigger any other trigger action that you have assigned to the alert.

so once the trigger condition changes (like from Node down to Node up) then automatically the reset trigger will work for your 15mins condition then it will just off the active alert or it will send a notification saying the node is up but still you will see an old alert in SolarWinds.

To overcome this you can use any advanced custom script (SQL query) that will work through the SolarWinds MS SQL database to just preview the recent alerts. let me know if it helps.
