component-SMTP Queue

My team is trying to monitor SMTP queue of a server based on component monitoring, so will get notified when due to email it is out of memory or there is no email at all, can anyone help me out how to monitor and how to configure alert with steps.

HI , we are using local queue length component to monitor, so could you please confirm if using statistic data can provide queue length.
