SAM Maintenance Overdue

I've been getting a "SAM Maintenance Overdue" message for the last 30 days. Clicking this message shows

Component status details table is 30 days overdue

I've logged a case for it but they are blaming is on a known bug that causes a message in the Database Maintenance Logs that says "Retention interval settings not specified"

I've been seeing the retention message for quite a while and ackowledge it's a bug but I've only seen the overdue messages since upgrading to 2023.1

Has anyone else seen this and can confirm that it's related to the original bug because I'm not convinced by what Support is saying.

Keep the ticket open then. They should keep the ticket open and inform you of any resolution. If it's a known bug, it should be posted via the Success Center.

I am seeing this also with 2023.1 in two environments. Both environments were upgraded to 2023.1, the first from 2020.2.6 and the other from 2022.4.1. Sounds like a bug to me.

When I upgraded to 2023.1 it was the RC version. This is when the issue seemed to start. I happened to be in the Updates section of My Deployment the other day and noticed that version 2023.1 was listed as available. I applied the update and the issue hasn't come back. Seems that the issue might have been in the RC version but fixed in GA.

I never installed 2023.1 RC and went from 2022.4.1 to 2023.1 and unfortunately can report that the problem exists on my installation.

Ditto. No RC here, only GA versions. PRoblem did not exist before upgrade to 2023.1 GA

I opened a ticket as I had two separate 2023.1 GA instances showing this issue and wanted to get more confirmation. It is a known bug - fix is planned for later this year, version 2023.3. They also confirmed that no issues are occurring with maintenance otherwise - in particular the retention interval settings. The data is collapsed, the bug is on the reporting side.

Its just annoying to see the popup, and get the "Hey have you seen this error" from coworkers.

Yes its a known bug from 12.5 version which vendor said it will be fixed in the future release. please check the logs if it's really like maintenance never started for last 30 days. for me it shows but when i checked the logs the error was clear.

Maintenace do run everyday at the scheduled time but it fails to clear some tables discarded data which is not much of a risk but can trigger something all of a sudden silently. To avoid any such situations i've created alerts using SQL with batch script.

This was resolved in 2023.1.1 (service release).

I am using 2023.2.1 and i am facing same issue,

SAM maintenance overdue .

Getting below error in log file.

ERROR SolarWinds.Data.DatabaseMaintenance.TimeSeriesTableHandler - Error getting retention intervals: 0, 0, 0

I HIGHLY recommend opening up a support case and having Tier 2 (not Tier 1) review the logs to make sure you do not have an underlying issue. We had the SAM Maintenance overdue message for a long time, but when we upgraded to 2022.4 we discovered that our OrionLog database wasn't keeping it's normal size. There was another bug that was preventing the partitions from properly rotating. There was another bug in 2023.2 where the Orion database isn't being cleaned like it should. Both times support brushed it off as a "Known issue", but after having them review once again it was discovered as new bugs. 1 of which would have causes data corruption if we let it go past the 30 day mark (we resolved with 10 days of buffer...could have been bad).
