Setting up a new environment

So, as the title says, im building a new environment.  We're running a very old version of Orion, and i've been tasked with building the new environment.  The servers are built and i've installed the offiline installer onto the first server.  This will be 1 of 2 main pollers, with an additional 2 APEs.

I've run through the installer, and I come to the DB part.  We have created a new set of SQL servers to go with the new environment.  I've entered the DB details (New server name/IP), and the user to allow access to the DB.  This is where i encounter issues.  When I click next, I am given two options;

1. The database is in use elsewhere

2. The user doesn't have permissions to create a new DB

Now afaik, with the DB side of things, the DBAs have cloned the DB to the new servers, and we're going to be using the old data/setup in the new environment.  Is this correct?  Or should we be rediscovering the environment on the new system?

We'd like to have our alerts and custom properties etc transferred over into the new environment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that the 'in use elsewhere' is because the servers in the database for engines don't match what you are trying to connect from. It's just a guess, and support would know for sure. 

Moving to new hardware, I have used the HA features, you mentioned 2 main pollers so I bet you are familiar. Look at:

The next DB related issue I see is possibly the version jump. You need to run the upgrades to get the DB to work on a newer version. Not all of them, but you might have more than one hop if your install is old enough. Take a look at: Product Upgrade Advisor | SolarWinds Customer Portal 

If you want a clean install, then yes, you need a clean DB and move over alerts and reports manually after rediscovering devices.
