A Complete Uninstall/Removal of Solarwinds Software

How can I get Solarwinds COMPLETELY uninstalled? there are folders scattered in numerous places totaling over 8gb of space. The uninstall did not remove them. There are still services running, registry keys and all these folders. Are there step by step COMPLETE instructions to remove anywhere? Its an old eval version that I downloaded years ago and then never used.

Try contacting Solarwinds Support and ask if they have an uninstall script.

I know it can be a pain, but the cleanest method is a server rebuild. I've tried removing SolarWinds from a few of my polling engines to perform clean installs and have never been able to get all the shrapnel removed. In the end, it was faster and guaranteed a clean install of SolarWinds.

One note, I removed the polling engine from the environment first. Then performed the rebuild. Also, I renamed the servers for good measure.

I've tried to uninstall the 2020.2.6/2022.3 versions from a Win2019 server 3 times at the end of the last year and failed miserably even with some advice from support (https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Unable-to-Uninstall-Orion-Modules).

My recommendation is to rebuild the server from scratch. You will save yourself a lot of time ;-)

I was supplied with a script that removed everything from support during a system down event. It cleaned up the system so I could do a re-install. It probably isn't something they share out.

The 2018.4 section should work even on enwer versions if the -uninstall fails.
