I recently discovered (Case # - 01230385) that, due a limitation on the current implementation of Orion, I cannot use the UnDP to poll the mac-address of a device.
The limitation consists in: "UnDP is a mechanism that allows to poll data from ifTable (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2) only for managed interfaces" , so if the device (as UPS or some CCTV) doesn't have a NPM managed interface the UnDP, despite the test is successful and the server receive, at every poll, the value, doesn't write the result on the DB and doesn't present the result on the web view.
I wanted to use the historical data of the mac-address to verify how many devices were replaced in the last xx days (just running a custom SQL report) so I can check the work of the technicians on the field
Kindly the technical support opened a new feature request to remove the current Orion limitation but I need sponsors have it accepted by the development.
I hope this feature can be useful to many other Orion users.
Thank you
