URL Monitoring

Hello,

Is it possible to monitor certification of a web application ?

I have a list of URLs, so is it possible to monitor them via HTTPS monitor, SSL certificate expiration and monitor IIS ?

Is it mandatory to add the server that host this URL to be managed by SolarWinds ?

Hi, yes if you want to monitor https availability and certificate you can monitor them through SAM, without adding them as nodes in orion. If you want to monitor the IIS services and/or the Appinsight for IIS you need to have the node monitored.

Many thanks for your reply. this is in case we are monitoring a URL hosted in a node but I'm asking if we are not add the node to SolarWinds and need to monitor HTTPS and SSL certificate for a URL

You can add the URL as an external node or ICMP/Ping node, then you can add an HTTPS containing Template onto that node. However you need to have the url somehow added as a node

(+) SSL certificate monitoring - Forum - Server & Application Monitor (SAM) - THWACK (solarwinds.com) is another one. I used a powershell script to monitoring a URL that @KMSigma posted but I cant find it right now. Here is a similar script that you would need to manually add your URL to where google.com is shown.
