Adding Nodes to Live US Weather Map

We have a page that displays the US Map that shows the locations and status of vital assets for monitoring.

How could we possibly incorporate a Live Weather Map along with this to show what might be affected by Weather and other possible issues?

We are currently on 2020.2.6

I made an action last year to fire on a down event that would query an open weather API using the lat/long values in the DB and place the current weather in the notes value, before submitting to the ticketing system. Works pretty well.

To place it on a map you'd want to first get all your stuff geotagged. This can be a pain, you probably want to figure out where your sites are, tag by site, and then upload data using a postcode to latlong converter. Then you query somesort of mapping service will prepared data pulled from a SWIS query about the lat/long values you set earlier. That'll be a pain but only about as hard as placing anything else on a map

Thanks, we have a map we want to use the map from acuweather and we do have all of the lat/longs of our nodes. so i need to find a way to merge the two based on node types.

Had a quick look over the accuweather API page - Didnt see one about plotting on a map.

Basically you'll be doing something like

-Connect to SLW
-Query stuff you care about for Lat/Long/ID

-Format data for weatherservice

-Connect to Weatherservice
-Send formatted query

-Display output

Pretty sure there's some for this in earlier thwack posts, not sure about your provider of choice though, that said i'll only affect 2 of those points above

if you had to put it on an accuweather one and they dont provide a map tool, you could do some html overlay thing but it'd be nasty and I super dont reccomend it.
