EIGRP Neighbor Alert Question

We had an issue this week and need to do some additional network alerting. We setup this alert until we can get ACI into Solarwinds - https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Routing-Neighbor-Down-alert-does-not-trigger-for-EIGRP?language=en_US. I am hoping if one of the neighbors goes down it will send out an alert. Anything else I may need with this at all? I am not well versed in the networking side of Solarwinds but it looks like 2023 will be the year I work on getting well versed in Solarwinds and networking monitoring and alerting.

You could also set your devices to send syslogs when changes are being made and receive additional information as well as create alerts.

We are looking into Telephony monitoring and working on sending logs from a router to Orion so we can use it for alerting. Syslogs seem to be another key here. Thank you!!!!

I highly recommend testing it by downing a link. I use test switches for this purpose. I can't recall the reasoning but I could never get the EIGRP alert to work so I created one off the Log analyzer based on how IOS and IOS-XE present EIGRP alerts.

FYI the ACI integration in solarwinds is garbage. You will want to create your alerts from ACI instead of solarwinds and even that is a nightmare.
