Filtering Data on Modern Dashboard?

Hey, I'm trying to filter some of the data on my network modern dashboard - I've found the following KB here: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/orionplatform/content/core-fusion-dashboard-global-filters.htm#link7

I'm wondering is there a a way of doing an OR Statement in the URL?

For Example on the dashboard I've got a WAN Section and a Wireless AP section.

- I want to filter where The Node.Caption is like 'ABC' Or where Orion.Wireless.AccessPoints is like 'ABC'.

- Because my AP's are not added as Orion.Nodes they only appear in Orion.Wireless.AccessPoints so I need to filter both .

I've put together the following so far:

filters=0_Orion.Nodes_caption:like:ABC-0_Orion.Wireless.AccessPoints_displayName:likeABC

^ This appears to be more like an AND Statement instead of an OR but I'm not sure of the syntax to filter the data I need.

Could just join/union/place two modern dashboard elements to form the resource. Just looking for the data or a specific reason for the filter to apply in the URL?

Might be possible to do an inverse selection with a load of INs, but i'd bet that's a bad idea

Unfortunately, there is currently no support for OR operators. What kind of widgets are you using, do you have any other use cases for filtering in this way?

Hi Tony,

We're creating a view which is basically just a bunch of custom table resources showing different elements of the network.

For Example:
WAN, LAN and Wireless split into three different tables and just filtering where they are down or critical.

Th filter all works well for the first two resources (WAN and LAN) as I can filter on my Node Custom Property "Site" and show the relative nodes in each resource.

The problem comes from the resource trying to display my Wireless AP's as these are not 'Nodes' they do not get filtered by the Node Custom property. The workaround is to add each AP as a Node and Tag them but I was hoping to use the OR Statement to do a statement like --- where Node.Site = ABC or Orion.Wireless.AP.property = 'ABC'.

I would then be able to create a view showing only data relevant to that site.

The same problem will occur with other Orion entities that are not in the Nodes Table such as virtualization assets like VM's that are not managed.

I'm curious roughly how many sites you've got

Something to try would be to filter in the URL on node-property to select the site, and an open filter on the AP-property to select everything in that table, then only use elements referencing APs that join from the node's site property

Like [AP table] -
Select ap.x
from orion.nodes n
left join orion.wireless.ap ap on node.site = ap.site

not sure if that works, but maybe something in that space does.

We've over 100+ site codes and more to add.

There is no tie between the AP's and the Nodes Table in SQL or SWQL either so it wasn't possible to do that unfortunately. It looks like I'll have to leave the Wireless items to it's own dashboard for now.
