System requirements

silly and very basic question.

I am kind of confuse about the system requirements for NCM. We started using NCM for 6 months now and at each update of the product the wizard keeps asking for more RAM.

So back to the documentation.

1 - Do I need to add the system requirements of SolarWinds and NCM? 6 + 16 = 22 GiB

But the way for me it should be 6GiB -> ISO norm.

NCM Server Hardware	CPU Speed	3 GHz dual core dual processor
	RAM	6 GB
	Hard Drive Space	30 GB

and

CPU: 4 Cores / 8 Cores

RAM: 16 GB / 32 GB

Or should I understand I only need 6 GiB?

As I said a very basic question.

Hi, at the bottom of the page im assuming your referring to it says they are the minimum requirements

How many nodes are you monitoring and are you seeing any issues with the system?

To answer your question, we got a license for 1000 nodes and we are using 2022.4.1.

We had 10 GiB of RAM and it wasn't enough. Now we have 16GiB of RAM.

We added the RAM because we have an opened ticket and the support said we haven't enough memory.

The funny thing it did not resolve the issue.

I like to understand things and the why we do it. What I would like to point here it is the fact that your link is supposed to be for the 2020 version.

I checked the documentation for 2022.4.1 and I think some things have been lost on the way.

Are you having an actual issue with the system when it is up? I think that part that comes up is a recommendation on default figures it has in the system not based on how you are using the system.

So unless your having issues when it is running it is safe to ignore.
