Overriding CPU and Memory thresholds for single node

Hello folks,

i have alerting template created for all our DB servers and for all the server we are using 85% warning and 95% as critical but i want to exclude one or two servers from this general thresholds.

i have tried editing(Overriding) thresholds on Node level but i am still getting alerts for the threshold defines inside the template. i don't want to exclude the node from alerting template.

any suggestion how i get this done on SolarWinds 2020.2.6 version

Another method would be to use the Thresholds from each node instead of setting a static threshold in the alert, the majority of nodes will use the Globally set threshold value, and the nodes that you specifically set up will use the threshold that you specify in the Node Properties. This way you can change nodes like SQL servers or others etc that are supposed to run high.

The properties to use would be Warning Value Reached (Percent Memory) to trigger at the Warning threshold or Critical Value Reached (Percent Memory) to trigger at the Critical threshold.

Can you post what your alert trigger conditions look like?

One method would be to add a custom property that is referenced in the alert, that way when you encounter the same issue with another node, you just change the custom property and leave the alert alone.

You could make a copy of the alert and include only the two servers in the copy, change the trigger values for the copy then go to the original alert and exclude the two servers.

thank you for the response. Yes, i can make that but it would increase the number of alerting templates.

In scope of alerts select All objects then in Trigger condition try this below method:

At least one child condition must be satisfied (OR)
All child conditions must be satisfied (AND)
Node-percent memory used-is greater than or equal to-85%
Node with database, windows and server
Nodes to be exclude
All child conditions must be satisfied (AND)
create the conditions for excluded servers
