We are not able to monitor the Volume disappearance. We need an Alert to get triggered once the Volume got disappeared.
What do you mean by "disappeared" ?Looking at a basic alert on volumes then for status (as an example) I could monitor for these:
But you need to define what you mean by disappeared please?
Linux Servers have a network Disk Mounted which Solarwinds call as NetworkDisk. On and of sudden the mount point will get disappeared often. Then we need to remount it again from the server.
My requirement is to create an Alert when NetworkDisk disappeared.
Same case for Windows as well.
when the volume disappears, SolarWinds captures this in the event log, rather than the status of the volume itself. You will need to find the event in the event center and create an alert for this.i have done this in previously environments but sadly dont have an example to show, nor an specific event name.here is another thread on this:Cannot create an alert for volume disappeared - Alert Lab - The Orion Platform - THWACK (solarwinds.com)
Hi Acurrent, I guess triggering alert from event is one of the cool idea. Let me try this and post my update here. Thank you for this.
