Monitoring Azure Backup Agents

Hi All,

Trying to monitor azure Backup agents.

I've followed https://thwack.solarwinds.com/product-forums/server-application-monitor-sam/f/forum/93220/how-to-monitor-any-azure-services-using-api-polling

However there is no expandable metric to monitor

This is despite there being a job against the vault that has completed

Any ideas?

Hi there, would love to see a sanitized version of the endpoint/query that's been getting you this far, struggling with similar at the moment.

Aside from that this view is just showing the data received without processing it so it's an azure thing and/or part of the query itself.

My bet, from working with similar is it's trying to give a count of issues rather than total or total recent. If you've got a Kusto thing in there somewhere it's really relevant.

Yeah no problem, so i used the following

https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/${SUBSCRIPTION_ID}/resourceGroups/${USERGROUP_ID}/providers/${APP_NAME}/providers/microsoft.insights/metrics?interval=PT5M&metricnames={Metric1},{Metric2},{Metric3},{Metric4},{Metric5},{Metric6},{Metric7}=Average,Total&api-version=2018-01-01

USERGROUP_ID = Resource Group

APP_NAME is pulled from the following along with metrics

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/essentials/metrics-supported#microsoftrecoveryservicesvaults

Re the fault, i suspect you are right, as if i look at the metrics in the vault on azure itself, it also shows 0 for backup health events... so i'm a bit stuck as to how to pull this data, as there is a job, and it is succeeding. i've reached out to MS to see if they have thoughts
