Orion Maps: How do I connect an interface on a switch to an ICMP-only device?

Hi,

I've got a number of devices I ping on various switches to make sure they're alive. I also want my maps of these sites to include these ICMP-only polled devices.

I can't find a way to draw a line that connects a switch interface to an ICMP device. Maybe I could add a virtual/fake interface on the polled (pinged) device?

Any ideas?

OM does not do single direction interfaces - he says yet in great hope that they introduce this feature real soon.

But what you should be able to do, is create a fake interface at the far end by doing the usual select the two objects and click on the link as per normal. Then when configuring the interfaces simply select the same interface at each end but select ingress for one side and egress for the other.

You should be able to do this though I believe in Network Atlas.

You most certainly can do this in Network Atlas - we have done it many, many times and recently.

Unfortunately for all of us, Network Atlas is on the way out. And orion maps, with no client requirement, makes granting access sooo much easier. @bshopp Please find a way to do this in orion maps. It's one of the features that makes atlas too sticky to let go.
