Adding, updating, and deleting groups

Has anyone ever had issues adding, updating, or deleting defined groups created within Solarwinds? I have removed some decommissioned nodes a few days ago. I attempted to delete the specified group since its empty, the nodes were removed as mentioned. The group still shows the nodes when clicked on I receive an error that the node I am viewing no longer exists. When attempting to delete the group, it is successful but on the groups list the group still exists. When creating a new group it is successful but on the groups list the group is now showing.

Some times the web interface has issues updating the groups. Try a IIS reset and see if the groups show up correctly.

Yes, there seems to be a lag in the WebUI and groups, at least it's been that way for a long time. When we delete one, it shows for about 15 minutes or so and then gets removed. Not sure if it's some cache issue or not.

@Seashore is absolutely correct, this seems to me like a WebServer issue, if you have AWS (Additional Web Server) restart them and it should work fine, or if you just use a primary poller without AWS try restarting IIS on primary poller.

Yes we see this in our environment.

In our early days I put it down to the DB being slow to catchup but as we've expanded and added APEs (many), multiple web servers and a load balanced frontend then for us it is more likely to be a localised cache issue, or cache on one of the web servers that hasn't caught up.

To prove this, we go direct to one of the main polling engines and if the change has applied there then it's as above and a clear of your cache should resolve, If it persists then Seashore's approach is our next step before rebooting individual web servers.
