One specific RabbitMQ Queue is backed up by millions of messages daily.

One RabbitMQ Queue named "Core.SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.DowntimeMonitoring.DowntimeMonitoringNotificationSubscriber.ManagedEntityStatusChanges.Engine@Engine_1/SolarWinds.BusinessLayerHost_domain-SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.dll" is backed up by 3-4 million of messages daily. The publish rate for this queue is only 3 messages/s. I am unsure which SolarWinds service or process needs to be restarted to get this queue cleared out. I am also unsure what information this queue contains and if it is safe to purge.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Oh, I forgot to mention. This queue has 2.2GB of messages in memory, which seems like a lot.

Are your rabbit log files excessively large as well?
I've had some log files as large as 22GB and Tech Support advised me to reinstall RabbitMQ

Hello, did you find any solution for this?

I have a related question where the same message queue stated above has been created several times, but there are no queued messages in them? Just a huge increase in the number of this type of queue.

When it comes to RabbitMQ you should open a case with support. Even if you purge/empty it the underlying condition needs to be fixed.
