Hi,

I will like to check on these features:

• Can SW NPM able to monitor Alcatel 9600 switches which will be configure as virtual chassis (physically 2 switches, logically 1 switch)?
  • Does it detect the 2nd physically switch status like ports, power supply, temperature etc? 
  • How will the alerts for the 2nd switch be like if it will be send to an external system?
  • Able to have a sample on Alcatel virtual chassis on the Solarwinds demo website?   
• Able to customize the alerts receive from the switches before sending to external system? 
  • What will the UDP segment format / message header be like?

Hi

Alcatel 9600 is not supported out of the box like Cisco Juniper & HP.

That mean that you need to create some snmp poller (oid) that asking the device for  that specific data like "how hot is the box?"

You can also syslog or Snmp trap to collect events from the 9600..

I quite sure that if the 9600 cluster losing a switch a trap is fire out..

I think that is the "right"  place to ask for those SNMP pollers (oid) to collect
