SNMP Traps

Hello,

I have a quick question regarding SNMP traps. I am monitoring devices using SNMP and the server initiated monitoring is fine, but traps are not coming through. Is there any additional connectivity that needs to be put in place to allow traps? For example additional ports, community stings, SNMP version, etc.

So this may be a 'granny sucks eggs' moment but traps operate via UDP port 162 - firewall rules and possibly any ACLs you use will need to allow these.

To clarify ... that's outbound from the node(s) and inbound to the server.

You could try a tool like PortQry (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=17148) to check that the port is open and not being blocked (in PortQry words that = filtered).
