How to add a new TAB to a group's MY Dashboard menu

Our aim is to have Solarwinds be the single pane of glass, therefore we want to have the bookmarks for external sites be in a menu on Solarwinds, appear under the "My Dashboards" menu at the top

I have already created the menu's "Bookmarks" and "Bookmarks_TabMenu"

but I cant get them to add in under "DEFAULT MENU BAR AND VIEWS" it doesnt appear in the list

How do I get it to work?

Good news - I found a way

I added a second TAB to the summary page at the side

Then added User Links (Misc) resource to the table, gives me space for 10 links per, with no limits on how many I add

Hello @scott.campbell-taylor,

I hope I understand your question correctly. Go to Settings -> All Settings -> Customize Navigation & Look -> Customize Menu Bars

Locate the correct menu bar to add your favorite and click the Edit link:

When the Edit Admin Menu Bar page opens, scroll all the way down the page and click on the Add button.

When the New Custom Menu Item screen comes up, fill in the information and click the OK button. This will add your favorite to the menu bar.

Thanks, but that adds the links to an existing menu, like Admin

I want them under a new Menu called Bookmarks

It is not possible to add to the menus at this level.

Buy the cheapest product you can that has it's own menu bar (or install a trial if you dont mind the blue bar at the top), and use that one

I had a Tools package which was fairly useless as a menu bar which was reclaimed for other stuff

If you do not want that 10-link limit, you can add as many as you like with a custom HTML widget. I prefer this method as it looks cleaner, and you can put whatever you like using HTML.

@scott.campbell-taylor, just to add another option into the mix, you can always just create a new tab up top. You can add whatever you want as the links within the tab. As a bonus, you should even be able to then allow/hide the tab in the user settings/permissions.

My post is a bit old, but I'd imagine it's all still there (hopefully). If I ever find anymore "play" time, then I'll spin up a test environment and verify all is as it should be.

Marc, a previous THWACK MVP, built out a nice PowerShell script to automate this. I have used his scripts for a while now, and they are always best of the best.
