NPM Node Category

Hi All, is there a way using the web console, that I can create new node categories? I am not very good at SWQL or SQL, but do have a DBA that can help me if necessary, but web console will be first choice.

The default node category is, Network or Server or Other, using auto-detect. I need to add Firewall, Storage etc.

You can simply use your own custom property, the default node category is limited to the 3 mentioned categories.

Thought i would explain a bit more. So I am creating email alerts using node variables in the email body, looks like this:

Device Name: ${N=SwisEntity;M=SysName}
IP Address: ${N=SwisEntity;M=IP_Address}
Device Type: ${N=SwisEntity;M=Category}
Machine Type: ${N=SwisEntity;M=MachineType}
Location: ${N=SwisEntity;M=Location}

Only problem is with the Device type results shows a number(variable status) instead of the Node Category, eg. network, server, other.

Please advise if you can help me fix this, thank you.
