Disk Space Alerts

We have created a global alert rule that applies to Windows systems that will send a serious alert when 80% or more of the disk space has been consumed. Is there a way to alert based on the overall disk in that, if it is 20% free on a 100G system, there is plenty of space and we don't want an alert, where 20% free on a 10G drive we would want the alert.

We want to try and stay away from creating individual alert rules for each based on disk size.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

Different Alerts are the way we have dealt with this situation, we have found that these four fit most of our needs.

Disks Threshold - Less than 3 Days Forecasted Remaining Capacity - Captures unexpected increases in disk usage

Large Disks less than 50 GB Remaining - Triggered when less than 50 GB remain on volumes over 1 TB for any node

Medium Disks less than 20 GB Remaining - Triggered when less than 20 GB remain on volumes between 200GB and 1 TB for any node

Small Disks with less than 5 GB remaining in Critical Status - Triggered when less than 5 GB remain on volumes under 200GB for any node and volume in Critical Status

I'm curious to see what polling times people are using for there disk space alerts.
I have moved to new organization and they are polling every 3 hours.
Thinking of changing that to every hours after someone asked me why it took 3+ hours to get an alert.

In addition to doing percent disk remaining, also add and available bytes > 1GB (or whatever you feel comfortable with) allow enough so the operating system will continue running.

We do something similar to stevenstadel. We use different trigger thresholds based on disk size. <500gb, 500gb-1tb, and >1Tb. We also use both a percentage and remaining space as a trigger condition. We will trigger after 30 minutes to give support time to fix issues.
