script to produce the resident memory of a process

I am in search of a script to produce the resident memory of a process. I have the process ID I can run a top - p on the needed node but I get the header information and everything else. I just want the out data statistic so that I can take that output only. I would just the single resident memory number. See a couple  of attempts.
