Restart Application on Node

Hello,

Hoping this is an easy question.

Leveraging and existing component alert, when the application monitor (ABC.exe is down) we would like an alert to restart the application.

Here is the rub - we use the Solarwinds agent installed locally on the device. Would like the Solarwinds agent to call a local PS script or VB script to run on local device and not call from a network device across our WAN\LAN.

Any thoughts or ideas??

I have the same question and don't have the solution unfortunately. When calling the script through the alert action, the script will always run from the main poller. What I end up doing is a way around using powershell invoke-command to run the script remotely.

I guess this will need to be a feature enhancement request to SolarWinds.

Thank you this helps - yeah I am not sure why the SolarWinds Agent running on the device we want to call a VB or PS script is not possible - this is really not efficient - you need to call the Poller to run a script running on the same device the agent is running - and the Agent has the local permissions to call the scripts - very frustrating.
