NPM Network Topology

Hello,

Just doing a fresh install of NPM and auto discovering my leaf and spine switches, I noticed that CDP isn't being fully learned from each device even though cdp information on the switches is showing all the neighbours correctly.

Is this a bug or is there something obvious you need to do to ensure CDP information is fully read from the switches?

@johnmcavoy1, CDP inventory is an NCM function and not so much an NPM function. Do you have NCM?

Yes sorry I have that installed as well. I can see some of my switches with CDP information in the dashboard under 'NPM Network Topology' but its not showing all the CDP neighbors which is odd?

@johnmcavoy1, ah now I understand. So there are some nuances to the Network Topology like certain pre-reqs have to be met in order to display there. A big one is that both sides of the connection have to be monitored in order for it to display. I might recommend that you place this query as a Custom Query widget on the nodes detail page and it will show you all the results of the CDP inventory for that node without having to meet some of those pre-reqs.
