Hello,
I got an email yesterday about the new IP SLA Tool for Orion. This looks like it does much of what VoIP Monitor does and more. How does this affect VoIP monitor?
Thanks,Eric
Hi Eric,
IP SLA Manager adds to the current VoIP functionality to support other IP SLA operations. The VoIP functionality will remain in IP SLA Manager (by no means do we have any plans of abandoning VoIP). We will continue to listen to the Thwack community and the rest of our customers, and add IP SLA and VoIP functionality as requested.
Thanks for the response. Its not exactly what I was hoping for. I was hoping that we were going to get the ability to more closely monitor our Voice Gateways and CallManager. The VoIP monitor is what drew us to SolarWinds in the first place.
I understand that SLA route is it opens up more overall options for SW. We might even have a need to run some of the other SLA tests but our main need is VoIP monitoring right now.
Let me clarify. Nothing is off the table, and any potential future enhancements around VoIP will be based on demand from customers like yourself.
I understand. I've seen more requests for the SLA stuff than the VoIP stuff and you'll be able to hit a wider audience for the SLA. I was just hoping for more Cisco VoIP realated information. (I want to be selfish! ) )
