NPM Group Dynamic Query & SNMP Community (String)

I feel as if I'm missing something somewhere. I am trying to create a group in NPM using a 'Dynamic Query'

The Orion Object is 'Node'
Node Category is 'Network'
IP_Address begins with 10.1[2-5].
SNMP Version is '2'
SNMP Community There is NO SNMP Community String option...

Am I missing something in the Dynamic Query? The SNMP community string is a big part of our configuration and is used extensively in our Alerts, Views, and Reports. But I can't create a 'Dynamic Query' using the SNMP Community string? Is it possible that I am not setting the correct options in the dynamic Query?

Thank you for the response. I gave this a try, and like you said its not graceful but it works and for now it will solve my problem. I agree that more works with the 'Groups' needs to be done and adding SWQL functionality would be huge. Thanks again for your time and reply.

I don't think you are missing it, I think Groups needs to be improved.

Personally I want SWQL available there.

Here is a band aid, ugly but will meet the need. Use an alert to add populate a custom property to nodes that need to be in the group.

So I start by creating a new alert, and I se the SWQL alert type since it can see that Community value.

Taking a stab at what you were filtering on, the part you customize might look like this:

where 
        Nodes.ObjectSubType like 'SNMP'
    and Nodes.Category like 'network'
    and Nodes.SNMPVersion = 2
    and Nodes.Community like 'public'
    and (Nodes.IP like '10.12%' or Nodes.IP like '10.13%' or Nodes.IP like '10.14%' or Nodes.IP like '10.15%')
    and Nodes.CustomProperties.YourPropertyHere is Null

You like don't need this to run all the time, so feel free to turn it on for just a few minutes, say 15. That's completely optional.

Add the following trigger action to update the property

Then set a value for that property, maybe the group name

Then head back to your group, and filter with only that custom property, which you should be able to use.
