Hi there, looking for some advise please for alerting on sfp levels.
Also tried to graph these with Perfstack
Thanks
@Prineel, currently SolarWinds is using the values in the right columns as its critical/warning thresholds. If you would like to override and use custom thresholds to make alerting on them easier take a look at this KB article on adjusting hardware sensor thresholds. Once you've defined the threshold you should be able to define to duplicate and edit the alert "Hardware is Critical/Warning" and adjust as you need it.
Hi Christopher, thanks for your response.
Apologies can you clarify regarding SolarWinds using the right columns as thresholds?
@Prineel, when SolarWinds polls the sensor it is using the thresholds that the system defines for critical/warning to create consistency between what you're seeing in the SolarWinds console and what the device is reporting. So when it polls it basically looks at the current value and then looks at the output values that are displayed to the right (the Alarms and Warning columns) to determine when SolarWinds should consider the sensor in Critical/Warning.
Thanks makes sense now! Will edit Hardware Warning/Critical Alert and go from there.
