Custom Component Monitor Question - SSISTELEMETRY

Hello Thwack -

I am working on a patching dashboard for the patching team. It is just a list of various SQL services we are monitoring across lots of different versions of SQL. I was able to setup monitors for SQL Server Service, SQL Server VSS Writer, and SQL Server Agent. We had some issues with some of the services not starting up after patching and rebooting.

They would like to expand this monitor and add SSISTELEBETRY service to monitor if it is up or down. If we only have one versions of SQL this would be easy but I have four different service names - SSISTELEMETRY130, SSISTELEMETRY140, SSISTELEMETRY150, and SSISTELEMETRY. Is there someway to setup like a wildcard or something in the monitor so I could set it up to monitor SSISTELEMETRY across all the nodes? Or do I need to set up the monitor for each service name?

Hi, don't think there is. You need to adjust this on each place (been there done that...). Pick the one most commonly used and adjust where needed.

I guess you could write a PS script to get out the values, using a power shell component inststead, but it will not be as pretty as normal service monitoring.
