"Don't know how to handle element Properties" Error

I get the following error after logging into SWQL Studio (v3.1.0.343, but I also had it in the previous version, v2.6.0.238-beta. I had hoped the upgrade would fix it.)

I can open and run saved queries, but I am unable to see the table listing in the database.

The log looks like this followed by a long xml formatted text.

Has someone already reported this as an issue on the GitHub? If not, I'd encourage you to do so.

It was opened as an issue almost a year ago. https://github.com/solarwinds/OrionSDK/issues/280. It doesn't appear to have been addressed.

Where are you running it from do you get a different result if you run from a windows client or server? Also have you used a local Solarwinds account i have found issues when using domain or domain groups on some environments

I am also suddenly having this same error. Solarwinds support kicked me to the curb and told me to post here. Anyone know the solution to this? I made a post in most recent release in GitHub as well.

Can you get a list of hotfixes from the computer where you are having the problem?

Yes, but I will say that I don't believe this is an issue at the location of SWQL Studio. I have the Orion SDK and SWQL installed in a few locations with various hotfix levels and they all have the same issue, including the MPE where I point SWQL to. My coworker who uses SWQL also has the same issue.

If you suspect hotfixes, I think the MPE would be the spot. Since I also have the same SWQL error directly on the MPE, I've listed the hotfixes from there:

This does feel like something on that MPE and not something that's from the client-side. I'm wondering if there's something in a .NET Framework security patch that caused a problem.

Going back to basics to collect all the points so I can get others involved in troubleshooting:

What's the platform version of the MPE?
What's the operating system on the MPE?
What's the version for SWQL Studio?
What's the operating system of one of the systems running SWQL Studio?
How are you authenticating? (Orion username/password, AD-integrated, etc.)
Did you already restart the SolarWinds Information Service on the MPE?
Have you restarted the SolarWinds Orion server?
