Hello Thwack community!
I've created a dashboard in SolarWinds to display a list of all scheduled mutes for our servers. We have patching/maintenance cycles that cover the entire year of 2022 and we'd like to pre-emptively schedule mutes for the entire year that align with the patching/maintenance cycles for our nodes. This would greatly reduce overhead and also reduce the amount of "spam" alerts that're generated during maintenance windows.
The issue I've run into is that it appears you can only schedule one mute timeframe at a time per node. If you schedule an additional/sequential mute timeframe for a node, it will replace/overwrite the previous mute schedule for that node. This is prohibiting us from scheduling mutes for our nodes over the course of 2022.
Now, I have done research and I understand there's an "Unmanage Scheduling Utility" that could schedule multiple UNMANAGE schedules for a node, but we're not trying to UNMANAGE because that would disable polling.. we're simply trying to mute so we can continue to poll these nodes during their maintenance windows.
Does anyone have a solution to my issue please? I'm sure there's a way to script this (which I'm open to any input), but we're trying to avoid scripting mute schedules because that would require overhead too. Ideally there'd be a way to perform multiple mute schedules for a node from the UI and frankly, I'm shocked that this hasn't been incorporated even after multiple feature requests. This is a crucial capability!
Thanks in advance!
