Access Point issue in heatmap

Hello guys,

we use floor plans and heat maps for access points across different buildings. All of our APs are showing their status except one. It is greyd out in the heatmap. When I open the controller trhough the orion console o see if the device is "alive" or if it even exists it does. Everything about it works, except it's greyd out in the heatmap and in the Atlas is stated as "unknown object".

I've tried to find something relevant to that issue but couldn't, so, please, help if you can .

An unknown object is, in my experience, due to an IFIndex changing.

I would start by removing the unknown and re-adding it.

How can I do that? The orion is populating the info from the wireeless controller.

Someone had to have created the heatmap in Network Atlas.

So open that up, find the relevant WLC and expand it. Then right click your unknown object, and drag and drop the relevant AP into the box that opens up. Alternatively, just drag the AP onto the map and delete the other one.

At this point it should go green.

HOWEVER - be aware that the heatmap does not auto regenerate. This means you need to "generate" the heatmap again. See the steps here: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/npm/content/core-creating-wireless-heat-maps-sw3557.htm

As an addendum - you'd need to find and open the relevant heatmap first.

Thank you very much for the answer. We fixed it by removing the AP from the WLC and adding it again. Then, orion platform started seeing it as well.
