Going back to the Legacy Recorder after upgrading to WPM 3.0

We have a LOT of recordings done with the Legacy Recorder. Our users are a little miffed after we upgraded to WPM 3.0 (upgrade was due to a memory leak in NMP 12.3):

They can no longer use the Legacy recorder and edit/create/save recordings from/to the Main Poller like they did prior.
They now must Export each recording from the Main Poller, Import the recording to the Legacy recorder, update the recording, export the recording locally, and then Import the recording to the Main Poller.
You cannot Export ALL or multiples of the Recordings from the Main Poller. You must do each one separately. We have over 100+ recordings.

Our Users are excited about getting new stuff, but not when it places a real time crunch on their productivity.

Is there anyway to remain at WPM 3.0 and use the Legacy player EXACTLY the way as before?

The legacy recorder should still function in every way that it did prior to 3.0. We shipped both recorders for the very reason that not all users would be ready to move over and also because there are some feature parity items still in development for the new recorder. As a sanity check I just now created a recording in the legacy recorder and was able to save it to the Orion console / main poller. I was also able to open and work with existing recordings. So I am a little concerned that you are having this issue. It might be worth opening a ticket with support so they can troubleshoot that in your environment.

Interesting. When the users launch the Legacy recorder, they get prompted to install an updated version (updated legacy?). However, all that happens is they see a screen for Windows Installer Options.

Where can we install the Legacy Recorder from the main poller?

I did open up a support case - Case # 00337894 - Unable to update the legacy recorder. All we see is a splash screen for Windows Installer options. It never updates or installes the update to the Legacy Recorder.

Yes, there is an update to the deprecated recorder that needs to be installed but it will still be the old recorder when finished. The new and old recorders are two distinct installs and can run side by side on the same machine. If you are having issues with the auto installer go get the bits from the "Manage Transaction Monitors" page: (Use the first link not the big download new recorder button)

Yup. We finally saw that. Downloaded and installed. The users are now happy.

I'll leave the Support Case open for now since there really seems to be an issue installing/upgrading from the old Legacy recorder.
