Scalability limit for LA

Dear all,

We are evaluating log manager,, to use in orion platform, we are using sam 2020.2 with unlimited component license ,

We have 15 APE , to monitor 10k servers ( Linux and windows).

We need to have a centralized log visualization tool,, can LM be the tool?

I read LM can accommodate 1200 events per second,, is it for each APE or entire LM module installed on orion platform

The limit is 1000 EPS and that is for the whole platform. Polling engines do not increase scale for Log Analyzer.

I am assuming you are talking about LA which was LM in the past

1. They state it can take upto 1000 events per second and it can be retained upto an year based on your DB sizing.

** If i am not wrong 1000 events per second capacity is per instance/server (that is for each of your pollers be it primary or additional). Very similar to other Orion modules.

2. They also state the LM not only sits on your Primary Poller but is deployed on your additional pollers

Use an additional polling engine (APE) specifically designed to be used with LA installation without having to purchase a license for an APE.

As mentioned by @jvb its now pretty clear that 1000 events per second for the whole platform and scale does not increase per APE/PPE as mentioned by me.
