Filter out Running Vs Startup conflicts: DHCP and LLDP move around

Hello all,

I have been lumped with an Orion SolarWinds daily check for a large organisation. With very little training on OSW, and none in filtering.

Everyday, we are getting false positives in our Running vs Startup config. They just like to reorder themselves! I don't know why and I'll be honest, this is one of many tasks I have so rather than try and fix iOS bugs, etc, I'd rather filter them out.

I'm happy to filter out LLDP and DHCP changes and the option name class-identifier to remove the tens of instances this happens each time something reboots in our vast estate.

Does anyone know how this could be done?

You need to utilise the Comparison Criteria feature in NCM to ignore these lines.

The following page in the guide explains in more detail, for which in this situation a simple Regex for 'starts with'

^option name class-identifier

and a second entry for

^option name client-identifier

Obviously other regex definitions could be used

Exclude config content from comparison in NCM (solarwinds.com)
