Interface utilisation - Internet traffic only

Hi,

We run an MPLS network with centralised internet breakout, the plan for this year is to start introducing local breakout at our sites so I'm trying to understand what percentage of our total site traffic is destined for the internet.

I cannot see a way of doing this in SolarWinds, I've been Googling and playing around in SW, and the best I've been able to come up with is netflow address group conversations, (i.e. filter traffic on our central DIA: must include: site A subnet | must exclude site A subnet --> RFC-1918 subnets). This just isn't giving me what I need, as, unless I'm missing something all I can get out of this is top-talker type reports rather than total bandwidth usage filtered as per the above over some time frame (30 days ideally).

Can anybody point me towards a way of doing this or confirm it can't be done please?

You are right, the use of IP Groups will allow you to define IP addresses in use at each of your remote sites. This will then allow a report to be rgenerated where you can see traffic going to and from those IP ranges.
