How long can the Kiwi Syslog server run and how often does it need to be restarted?
No system should need to be restarted it should work as intended forever but as we know there are things that will prompt a restart, work better after restart etc. Do you have a specific issue currently? Wont hurt to restart?
Since we have monthly patching on our Windows servers it gets restarted then. I've had instances running for months in other environments between restarts.
Depending on the complexity of your ruleset there can be loads that cause memory faults or exhaustion and require the service to be restarted. We've seen very few of those with the last 2 versions in a high volume environment with a complex ruleset.
We rarely restarted ours.
