turn off all alerts and then turn on only those that were turned off

Is there a way to turn off all alerts (only some are designated as "enabled" and then, where ready, to turn JUST those that were turned off?

In other words, I don't use all of the alerts, canned or otherwise. If I select "ALL" for the first action (it's easier to do that than select each one) and then only want the ones that WERE enabled to BE enabled, how can one do that?

Is this a "Feature Request"?

The easiest way to achieve this is to create a Custom Property for an Alert object type called 'Production' or 'Enabled' (or similar), with a Boolean data type being most appropriate. Select all of the Alerts that are enabled and update the Custom Property to be set to Yes/True.

Use this filter in the Manage Alerts area, where you can then bulk select and disable, then using same filter update when are ready to enabled again

This was not as clear as it could be. When you state "Alert Object" are you referring to AN ALERT or to each NODE that is under that alert?

The "Filter" in the Alerts Area does not make sense since when I go to Manage Alerts, there is no such "Filter" option.

Kindly explain this again.

Sorry, if I was not clear. By Alert object type for a Custom Property do the following and it will make sense:

Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Manager Custom Properties
Click Add Custom Property
First step of wizard select 'Alerts' in the drop down for Selected object type

You can then populate this field in the Custom Property area or by editing an alert directly and changing the value on the first page.

If you want to temporarily disable all alert actions, you can go to the Alerts page and hit the drop down at the top.

Select "Pause actions for all alerts" and all the things will be temporarily disabled. Just remember to come back and flip this back.

For the purpose of semantics:

In Orion, an Alert is a trigger and reset condition (or set of trigger/reset conditions).
Everything that happens after those conditions are met (send an email, write a log, run a script, etc.) are Actions.

But, if one activates the alerts AFTER a scenario, They all come up. That is not what I want.

Or, am I misunderstanding the action.

If the conditions that trigger an alert are no longer applicable, then the alert will take no actions.

I have looked at this and I guess, for the use I needed this will work. I really want a way to DISABLE all alerts and then ENABLE all alerts that were Enabled originally. Thanks for the help.
