Node status Down

Hi Folks!

 

 I am Using NPM orion module, and have following paramteres configured:

• ICMP Timeout: 2500ms 
• SNMP Timeout:2500ms 
• SNMP Tries: 2 
• Polling interval= 120 second
• Response Time warning threshold=500ms, critical=1000ms 

Here is my query: 

1-When the node status will be considered down?
2-Is it ICMP or SNMP or both which constitute the Node status?
3-What is fast polling and How fast it is done ?
4-What is normal ICMP ping rate ?
5-if ICMP does not receive ping response let @ X P:M then , at what time the final node status will be considered Down ?

Are those your global settings or individual node settings?

I believe it triggers on the ICMP status when it does its poll. ICMP is going to be the fastest method for polling for a down status.
