Is it possible to create a new Custom Property that only shows on certain nodes? We want to add Purchase Date, but it does not make sense to have that property on our VMs.

When you create a node custom property, a field will be available for each node, but it does not means it has to be filled.
If by "that only shows on certain nodes" you mean that it will show on your node detail page, only populated field should show.
Thanks. The issue is we want to put a mandatory field for our physical servers (order number), but obviously dont need it for our VMs. Any thoughts?
Unfortunately, there is not much flexibility that you can apply there... Orion does not provide granular rules for custom properties.
A way around that would be to make the Purchase Date field non-mandatory, and have a custom table on a page showing Non-VM nodes without a date...
Another way would be to keep the Purchase date mandatory but have it populated with a date that wouldnt really make sense either way ahead or way prior today's date.
Either way, I understand it's not ideal...
