Solarwinds keep on crashing. InformationServiceV3 is causing 100% cpu utilization

Good day,

For several months now, since upgrading to Orion 2020 (as per required due to vulnerabilities). One of our clients is from time to time, experiencing solarwinds crashing. It is either the cortex is causing the high memory utilization or the information service causing high cpu utilization.

We already created several tickets for this, and it will be fixed but after a few weeks, it will happen again. I already reinstalled the solarwinds (uninstall and reinstall) but same behavior.

Anyone experiencing the same issues?

Hi there,

There are quite a lot of 2020 releases, the newest being 2020.2.6 HotFix 2 - Each of these minor upgrades bring a lot of minor bugfixes that may be able to resolve the problems you are having.

On top of that, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take that might help:

done the suggested several times. Uninstalled and reinstalled the whole Solarwinds also. The ticket is already been opened for almost 2months.

Right now, it happened again. I'm suspecting that this is something to do with another application that might be utilizing the required port of solarwinds.

Happened again. Additionally I increased the maxpoolsize in swnetperfmon.db, cleaned the stale db entries but still kept on happening. Already submitted several diagnostics to support and waiting for their analysis. If they can help in pinpointing if this is caused by the os or any other applications, that would help.

Are you using rest API integration with SolarWinds?

For me the information service V3 has the same behaviour when rest api calls are send to often to SolarWinds
