Pre-upgrade
- Run SolarWinds Active Diagnostics Launcher
- Check Systems requirements
- Check Network ports requirements
- Check SolarWinds version(s) installed
- Check SolarWinds Installations path
- Check and review Licenses
- Verify Credentials on these items
- Admin privilege credentials for SolarWinds Portal
- Windows login credentials for SolarWinds installed server(s) and Database server(s) - Preferred local admin account
- Database admin account (Preferred SA Account)
- Logging to the Database server and check the database status and accessibility
- Backup Database and VM snapshots (If the server is standalone, check the System state backup)
- Check/status of the pollers
- Check SolarWinds HA configuration (This has to be disabled during the upgrade)
- Check windows patches are up to date
- Check Windows defender and Anti Virus application (This has to be disabled during the upgrade)
- Check no Pending reboots
Post-upgrade
- Check the upgraded version
- Check any errors in configurationwizard.log and BusinessLayerHost.log files
- Check the license status
- Check the pollers status and last database sync
- Check any unnecessary alerts trigged
- Fundamental valuation in the system
