Deployment sequence for Solarwinds Orion platform in HA with SQL server also in HA with Always On Availability Group.

Hello,

Please share the right sequence for in parallel deployment of Orion platform in HA along with SQL servers in Always On for HA.

The current env. for Solarwinds Orion is single server deployment on 2012r2 Windows with single SQL server instance. We would like to migrate the existing deployment to new servers with completely new deployment of Orion in HA and SQL server in always on Availability group.

Please guide with right sequence to start with above deployment (assuming all pre-reqs met) and then to migrate from Old Orion env.

Hi there, 

The high level of the process would be like this:

1. Take a backup of the database and then migrate the database to a new SQL server: 
   Backup:support.solarwinds.com/.../Backup-Restore-SQL-database
   Migrate:documentation.solarwinds.com/.../migrate_the_solarwinds_orion_sql_database_to_a_new_server.htm
   
   
2. Create AOAG on this new SQL server (Follow Microsoft process for this)
   
   
3. Migrate the SolarWinds platform to new servers:

4. Install and configure HA:
