2020.2.6 HF1 inconsistent message if APE needs to be upgraded or not.

I used the offline installer to upgrade my main polling engine to the 2020.2.6 release from Aug 24, 2021, or HF1. Normally I can run it on my two APEs without problem. This time I get messages that the additional APEs are already at the latest version. 

If I go to the automated upgrade process it says "Upgrade of your scalability engines is required. Please proceed here to complete the upgrade process."

After clicking on the link it says the additional polling engines are already Up-to-date. 

What do I need to do to either upgrade the APEs or make the messages consistent?

Generally this is a good reason to call support. You can make thing worse and then really need them. But you can look under the hood yourself... 

I assume you do need to upgrade the APEs, but lets verify that by comparing them. 
Check versions on each, you obviously want them the same. Here's the powershell I use: 

(Get-WmiObject win32_product -filter "Name LIKE 'Solarwinds%'") | Select-Object Name, Version

Initially, make sure that the Administration service is the same. Its what coordinates the upgrades and be default upgrades itself. If not you can manually get them on the same version by going to the Primary polling engine and open 'C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Installers' 
If there is a 'AdministrationService.msi' then use that installer to get your Ape's on the same version (uninstall, install with that file. )

Its not always there. You can get it from Solarwinds... by reading the .json calalog iwth download locations. 

My file is called SolarWinds.Administration.ProductCatalog.Model.ProductCatalogModel_default.json and I search for Administration and I found the link below:  

https://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/CatalogResources/SWA/1.0.2/1.0.2.2092/AdministrationService.msi 

If you update the Admin service, then re-run the web based upgrade and see what it does. 

If the admin service was the same, but not everything else then you are looking for SolarWinds.Orion.Installer.exe (or same name with the with the version you installed) in the installers folder and that is what I would copy and run on the APEs. It should download resources, do the upgrade and kick off a configuration wizard. 

But... support is there to help. I encourage you to open an incident, because if this goes sideways, you will want them around.
