Our Cisco Firepower appliances running ASA sw in appliance mode stopped backing up configurations. I am not sure exactly why it stopped but it could be due to the latest sw update we did to bring the ASA's to latest code. At any rate it kept failing. Turns out our exec banner was too long now (it never changed but I digress) so I shortened it. Additionally I had to make sure that pager line 0 was added to the configuration. Now I can backup the devices! I just wanted to pass this along in case anyone else runs into a similar issue.
